217 Bates College students presented research at the 18th Mount David Summit. The annual celebration of academic achievement highlights undergraduate research; student creative work in art, dance, theater, music and film/video; projects conducted in the context of academic courses; and community-engaged research.

A total of 11,406 students enrolled during the 2019 spring term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The University of Alabama awarded some 5,716 degrees during its spring commencement May 3-5. The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2019 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Six members of Bates College's Brooks Quimby Debate Council traveled to Cape Town, South Africa, where they participated in The World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC), the largest debate competition in the world.

Columbia State Community College is pleased to announce the 626 students named to the Dean's List for earning academic honors during the fall semester.

Members of the Columbia State Community College Student Government Association and the President's Leadership Society attended the 49th General Assembly of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature Nov. 15-18 at the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville.

Amiee Sadler of Columbia has been named Columbia State Community College's 2018-2019 SGA vice president. This is Sadler's first year in student government, and she is looking forward to working toward increasing student involvement and diversity within the SGA. She also hopes to attend the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature this year. Sadler is currently serving as the chapter president of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and the chapter secretary/historian of the Sigma Kappa Delta Honor Society. After graduating from Columbia State, she plans to transfer to a four- year university, then attend law school.

Peer leadership provides opportunities for students to guide, educate, and support students in acadecmi success at Austin Peay State University. Peer Leaders are student leaders who provide an immediate support network to APSU students. Peer leaders will help students adjust to the University, develop a better understanding of campus resources and skills essential for academic success. Peer leaders have the opportunity to explore their own leadership potential, learn techniques about facilitating dialogue, and developing skills for mentoring both inside and outside of the classroom. Peer Leaders recieve are chosen through a process of training and education. Peer Leaders take three Leadership courses to guide them through their experience of preparing for the position, facilitating mentoring to current studetns inside the classroom, and reflecting on their personal leadership development.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester at Baldwin Wallace University according to Provost Stephen D. Stahl. Any full-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for 12 or more graded hours or part-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for six or more graded hours in the fall or spring semester will be placed on the Dean's List.
